My name is Jennifer Pickens. I am from Tennessee in the southeastern part of the United States. My love and passion are in working with people and seeing them reach their full potential thriving in life. I began my journey studying in college to become a physical education teacher. I received an athletic scholarship to play fastpitch softball during which I learned how to fitness train to play with and against top athletes. I then became interested in body building and ended up working for the well known club - Gold's Gym endorsed by Arnold Swartzneggar. Over a period of 20 years, I learned how to change my body through fitness and shared this knowledge with my clients.
As I grew in my work, I noticed the need for a deeper connection and a need for deeper change in myself and in my work. This awareness took me on a journey of self discovery and healing. On this new path to discovery I started a Master's degree in Professional Counselling and I began personal therapy. As I healed I discovered that body work was a way to heal wounds and deep trauma. I began my studies in Holistic Massage Therapy and Myofascial Release and eventually went on to study Somatic Trauma Therapy. It is the combination of these that have helped me heal from past trauma and to live life more fully from surviving to thriving.
My work is now devoted to helping those that are suffering due to the effects of trauma through a holistic approach in body work.
